The alternative to a corset is the Cincher strap. This is becoming incredibly popular in the fact it's really easy to fit and very comfortable to wear.  It's zips up the front with velcro straps that create the shape you require.  it's comes in black.

Although the material is stretchy, we find the sizes come up on the small side, so suggest going for the next size up to what you are. 

L waist 27-29 inches, hip 33-35 inches

XL waist 29-31 inches hip 35-37 inches

XXL waist 31-33 inches, hip 37-39 inches

3XL waist 33-35 inches, hip 39-41 inches

4XL waist 35-37 inches, hip 41-43 inches
